Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Podlogue is a personal commentary tool that lets you record voice notes tied to podcast episodes and YouTube videos. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what control you have over it.

1. What we collect

Account data. When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment information unless you upgrade to a paid plan.

Commentary clips. If you enable sync, your audio recordings and their transcripts are uploaded to our server. Audio files are stored securely and are only accessible to you.

Playback metadata. We store which podcast episodes you have played and your playback position so you can resume across devices. We do not build profiles or track listening habits for any other purpose.

Usage logs. Our servers log standard HTTP request data (IP address, timestamp, endpoint) for security and debugging. These logs are retained for 30 days.

3. How we use your data

We use your data solely to operate Podlogue โ€” to authenticate your account, sync your clips between devices, and display your usage statistics on the dashboard. We do not use your data for any other purpose.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers in the European Union. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. Audio files are stored with access controls that restrict them to your account only.

5. Third-party services

Podlogue fetches podcast feeds and YouTube content from their respective sources. When you play an episode, your device may connect to the podcast host's servers to stream audio. We have no control over third-party data practices.

If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

6. Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete your account and all associated data, or update your email address at any time by contacting us at admin@podlogue.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your email, commentary clips, and playback data are permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of Podlogue after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
